Ishita popularly known as Ish Kaur is the Youngest Indian Female Rapper. She was influenced by Hip-Hop music since her childhood, at the mere age of just 13 she wrote her first Rap Song. Convincing family was also not that easy, but seeing her singing talent and her dedication, she successfully convinced them. From then she never looked back and took her first step towards converting her dreams into her profession. Apart from writing her own songs, Rapping and Singing, she is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. Her strong decision making and clear vision of what she wants to do made her the Youngest Female Rapper of India. She also makes the concepts of most of her videos and compose her songs herself. As Ish Kaur quotes herself ”Rap is what I do, Rap is how I live my life. My rap is all about my experiences of life and I try to convey it in behalf of every other person who is feeling like me, but can’t express.” She blends old age wisdom in her songs in a new Hip-Hop style of the youth which has made her endearing to the audience.

With her powerful and strong yet naughty personality, she won many hearts when she was called upon to perform in an episode of Entertainment ke liye kuch bhi karega- a show which is a famous platform to promote Indian talent among the world,aired on SonyTv. Even the celebrity judges Anu Malik and Farah Khan praised her talent with a lot of joy and motivated her to keep working on.

One of her dreams was always to perform in a Fashion runway show which got fulfilled in 2016 when she performed at India Runway Week 2016- Designer Rohini Gugnani‘s show. She broke all the norms when she was seen wearing a Golden 15 kilogram Lehnga and performed one of her upcoming songs Boliyan-Ish Kaur. She was found quoting ”I was done with the assumptions and expectations that rappers should only wear baggy clothes and hip-hop caps. I am a rapper and I do have an unpredictable personality, and I surely don’t like someone making rules for me! I make my own rules in this game and wearing a lehnga during my performance was such a great experience of my life. It enhanced my feminity.”

She was just 15 years old when she took her first step towards commercial music and shot one of her first videos Ghaint Kudi-Story of an adamant girl which was a hit among youngsters as they downloaded that song a lot of times on iTunes. She also got a chance to Launch her first video song, which no  other female artist has got at that tender age.

Kaur has since then performed at many places including Technia University, Delhi Haat, Nom-Nom Hotel Ashoka and one of her best performances was at Bnb Shooters which you can watch here.

Ish had to take a break for two years because she had her 12th standard board exams and wanted to pursue her another dream of getting into the best fashion designing college. But, with her never backing out attitude, she was still at the top and made her special appearances such as being a special guest in a BBC Hindi episode which you can also watch here.

Kaur was also covered in some of the famous newspapers including Hindustan times & Punjab Kesari, magazines like Cosmopolitan. Everyone praised her of her talent to write lyrics in Punjabi and English.
